California with a slice of Mayberry . . .

Thank you Debra for taking us on a journey to experience the “small town” feel of California. Looking forward to seeing more sights and hearing more about your adventure.

    Great piece Debra.
My memory of that portion of the trip was very similar. I was excited about finally driving the Avenue of the Giants. We started that drive in a town called Pepperwood and drove south until exiting the Avenue of Giants at the town of Laytonville. But wait – from there although sad to be leaving those giant of trees. We headed west. Very winding road for about 30 minutes. The anticipation to see the Pacific Ocean again was killing me. Finally, as we were driving up another winding hill in dense trees. We burst out onto route 1 Pacific Coast Highway. The view was just tremendous.
